Have you ever felt the urge to explore the subterranean world of limestone, calcite and crystals? Or enjoyed the thrill of abseiling into
a cavern to explore the chambers, squeezes and passages of a wild karst system? Perhaps you’ve tried adventure caving and would like to do
more - if so, why not join the Blue Mountains Speleological Club?
We run weekend trips monthly to suit a range of abilities, including
several trips a year which are suitable for children (check out the Microbods page). We also conduct skills training for all our members.
BMSC does not restrict its activities to recreational caving, and our members at times work on cave survey, scientific and
other projects. We take cave conservation seriously and follow a minimal impact
ethos. We are a member club of the Australian Speleological Federation.
We welcome new members and would love to have you along. If you are experienced
then
we can provide a challenge; if you are new to caving we will show you the ropes
(no pun intended). So, whether you live in the area or are visiting from overseas, join the BMSC for some underground adventure. Members from other
clubs are also welcome on trips.
We have a small amount of gear available for loan and no previous caving or abseiling experience is necessary. Check out our Trip Program, and if you’d like to know more, contact us.
